الدكتور حمزة بن قبلان المزيني هو ناقد ومترجم وأستاذ لسانيات سعودي معاصر، وُلد عام 1363 هـ (1944م) في المدينة المنورة. حصل على شهادة الماجستير والدكتوراه في اللسانيات من جامعة تكساس في أوستن بالولايات المتحدة الأمريكية، وعمل أستاذًا في قسم اللغة العربية بجامعة الملك سعود بالرياض حتى تقاعده. يُعد المزيني من أبرز المفكرين في مجالات اللسانيات والترجمة والنقد الثقافي.
أبرز مؤلفاته:
• “مراجعات لسانية” (2000م): مجموعة من المقالات النقدية التي تتناول قضايا لغوية ونقدية معاصرة.
